National Grid, a multinational electricity and gas utility, has chosen Siemens to provide its 63 kA arc-resistant switchgear technology for the utility’s new electric substation in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. The new location, replacing the National Grid’s existing South Street Station, will provide reliable, efficient power to the utility’s customers including the City of Providence and much of downtown Providence.
